PERSONAL BIO
20 years and counting for me in Procurement, and what a journey it has been. From working as a purchasing administrator buying literature on a procurement card to consulting on a multi-million-pound data center project, I have seen and experienced most of the challenges that are thrown at you in procurement. I have the public sector to thank for my steady development gaining a wide breadth of experience in sourcing for major equipment programmes as well as managing large scale service support contracts. It is during this time that I was privileged enough to study and obtain full membership of the ‘Chartered Institute of Purchase and Supply’ (MCIPS), which was later complimented with a MSc in Strategic Procurement Management when I graduated from the University South of Wales in 2017.
My passion in procurement is the people and I believe the key to any successful procurement project or programme is effective stakeholder management, harnessing the skills and knowledge around you to achieve any desired outcome. Sustainable procurement is also a topic that is always at the forefront of my mind and I have experience in helping a logistics business plan and implement sustainability goals and objectives to help meet their aspirations of Net Zero by 2030.
I am an accomplished expert in framework strategy and development through to implementation, with one of my key achievements helping a global leader in the data center market put in place an EMEA Framework for suppliers. Resulting in a wide portfolio of skilled contractors to help the client meet its key criteria of achieving speed to a very competitive fast paced market.
In times of economic struggles and global challenges I feel it is the time for me to shape and create my own future which will provide me with the flexibility to grow as a procurement professional and support my family which includes my wife and two young boys. I can do this by sharing my wealth of experience with clients and businesses globally in the hope that in some way I can help extinguish any stigma to procurement and its difficulties. Requirements are often complex, but procurement doesn’t have to be, and that is where I can come in, to help simplify and improve to meet client goals and aspirations.
